I have some other domains with me and , they are hosted somewhere else  and due to recent hosting downtimes I had to search for new hosts to keep my website up. Yesterday, my server was being upgraded from version of PHP4 to a version PHP5 , and this happened instantly, I did not get any mails from the hosts as well. All I could possibly see was a 500 Error on my site for that instant. I called up the live support system of the host and they answered me prominently as well. They also told me that it would take at least an hour to get the sites back because an upgrade was being performed.

This made to think about taking backup as soon as the site comes back online again, what should I choose a scheduled backup from the host or downloading the backup from the site to my own PC. Taking a backup to pc is not a cease with me because of the random content I get on to my desktop. The best idea was to take a online backup so that I can save my files and backups online and in case of an emergency , I can easily download it from Internet and then upload to my server again and use it. So , what do you think about the same.

Got My new Domain today and changed it’s hosting from Godaddy.com .  After changing the name servers I was not able to see my site for almost 6 hours and now as I am able to see my site online again so , would love to get back to you when the DNS propagates itself properly , within the next 72 hours..
